You came up before
it wasn't up
I came in to town
you weren't in...
Down went da dream
You went out of zone
to simmer down
You came in to town
I didn't know...
Down stayed da dream
You came up again
just as before
I got out of zone
to settle down
And no one could say
just like before...
So stayed da dream
You zoomed through da zone
just like before
And got fresh a hint
not like before
Is this now the deal
which was before
or still just a dream
just like before...
Which way to dream
We have now a voice
unlike before
But have not a face
just like before...
Oh, what a dream
Is this now da voice
which was to come
Shall we have to wait
still for the face
How long a wait...
Now, what a dream
I hold on to fate
just as to faith
To work me my dream
now that I hear
I still have my fears
just as before
But since wiped my tears
so I'll be free...
Yes, what a dream
Will you stay with fate
just as I do
And pull up your faith
now that we know
Can you walk the talk
da bulk
Will you tame the game
da shame
What be your take
ya stake...
now that we know
not like before
It's still up for grabs
not for the drab
Oh, what a DREAM!
Just as the Internet happened upon us and changed our world, I foresee poetry in a new and renewed resurgence: the shorthand for social communication, back-stopping our drift away from heavy reading. Verses for the Masses promotes the Culture of "Popular Poetry", will help make our day, our way, our world, a better blend. Here be First Leg of my Literature Tripod & New Media Offerings. Clock of Faith
A soul once sold
in the cold
not giving up
so looking up
living each day as gold
A soul once ate
by the gate
not looking in
so soaking in
leaving all things to fate
From those trickles
came some tickles
in time
From same channels
rolled the kernel
of fate
Musings met musical chairs
A note will connote
the turn of fate
by faith
The first door, just in time
Promise galore
The foothold stuck in sly
Dodges galore
Then the swing, the wind
and old things be gone
Dangers galore
A note of hate, a word by fate
The soul lingers in thoughts
and lumbers in pain
till the deal be finally sealed
Pray timing and time
old wind was new again:
Same soul
Same fate
And same clock of faith
that has ticked for gain
Trudge on
It's the trip of fate!
There is a story behind this story. A hardworking and bright mind who, like many others, was unable to secure a commensurate graduate-level job. From petty selling (hawking was more like it!), serving in faith activities and spending time around our zone, changes and openings occurred...and a job came.
It was much anxiety for the recruits because they got no letter, no pay, lots of empty assurances for almost half a year! Then more changes. And mass sack - even of those yet to be paid! How faith works....and fate runs: The worst blew away, just as it came.
As I regard the scenario and pondered its mix, it was clear to me that our purpose and posts do matter to fate. Some truly fine workers lost, some maginal performers won. By all scores, this soul ought not to have lost. The tabs just didn't add up....
Alas, faith and fate assured the scores!
