I take the chess of life
as days
at the feet of culture
Then dawns will count
I place the net of life
as ways
in the sea of nature
Then pawns will mount
When you move
and how you cast
be what you net
or regret
Chess?
Ask masters
Net? Task elders
Each move, seen or remote
lurks in hearts and minds
All moves, known or blown
breed or bleed in heads
Time, dear player, be
what you splice and dice
Our day be made at dawn
Our pay to grade in pawns
We set both or let all
A culture of dawns
serves one the pawns
A nature of yawns
makes one the pawn
How clear!
Remember the old saying, "how you lay your bed....."? Yep, that's the hint! Getting set at dawn is sure-fire pep. Setting out at dawn is key. Knowing and being known raises.
For 2007 beyond, combine!
Just as the Internet happened upon us and changed our world, I foresee poetry in a new and renewed resurgence: the shorthand for social communication, back-stopping our drift away from heavy reading. Verses for the Masses promotes the Culture of "Popular Poetry", will help make our day, our way, our world, a better blend. Here be First Leg of my Literature Tripod & New Media Offerings.
