For a season so treacherous
we need a bond of faith
For a nation so anxious
we need the bond of truth
For a people so broken
we need the plaster of love
For a land so weary
we need the basket of care
For a generation so hungry
we need the opposite of anger
For a time so slippery
we need the grit of elders
For a proverb so forlorn
we need the reason of here
For a season of anomie
we need the beauty of peace
In this reason do we live
for this season must we rise
To make our season the reason
and our reason the prism
we need to stay as one
work as one
share as one
Just as the Internet happened upon us and changed our world, I foresee poetry in a new and renewed resurgence: the shorthand for social communication, back-stopping our drift away from heavy reading. Verses for the Masses promotes the Culture of "Popular Poetry", will help make our day, our way, our world, a better blend. Here be First Leg of my Literature Tripod & New Media Offerings. The REWARD
Don’t tell me to listen
even as I gear my ears
or I will switch off
Don’t ask me to follow
though I like to tow
or I will turn off
My joy is not for toy
nor my reward by wads
I ride a conscience train
Why ask me to train
and give me the drain
or am I the pawn
Why ask them the route
then give me the drill
am I the chess
Listen to the droppings again:
where will the dawn lead
Come to the village again:
who is your arrow-head
The cash? Or the pipe
The hunch? Or the hunt
As you go, dear driller
the reward be clear, and revered
Tell it, trail it
As you wine, dear driller
chew on it, dream of it
For those who went before
have marked the narrow path
even as I gear my ears
or I will switch off
Don’t ask me to follow
though I like to tow
or I will turn off
My joy is not for toy
nor my reward by wads
I ride a conscience train
Why ask me to train
and give me the drain
or am I the pawn
Why ask them the route

am I the chess

Tell it, trail it
As you wine, dear driller
chew on it, dream of it
For those who went before
have marked the narrow path

Tracks from Before
It was in the pen
long long before
From thence came
the ritual force
It was of the den
long long ago
In it craves
our large ego
Independence:
A lonely way
to lovely rays
Parting of ways
Making forays
In the pen thence
in the den hence
Be it of past, present
or future
the tense won't work
sans culture, sans nurture
Independence:
A tortuous way
to make hay...
Leaving the cookie jar
and rising to par
All in the den
still by the pen...
Now for our say
sure in our way
Independence:
The tour of vision
the tear of forces...
And the tracks of honour
leading from before
Ahoy!
The stern message to poor ex-colonies is to learn not to forever-moan. Several of today's great nations were also colonized before! And we speak directly to our leaders and the media in the African, Caribbean and Pacific, ACP, regions of the world. Wake up, folks....the sun is high!
We have legitimate claims to express apologies plus reparations, especially on the slavery mess, but we ain't gonna stay prostrate until and unless we got them...are we? The Jews didn't wait, did they? Now they're getting the best of all worlds!
If you do not say "I AM", no one will say "THOU ART"!
Now, ACP, arise-work-and-shine. Then, assert.
